Don't give me 10 lashings..I did a search and didn't find anything about this topic...I was wondering what the best way is to run speaker wire to the rear speakers and whether or not it is worth the effor?

Thanks guys.

ok pull out reciever/head unit. pick which speaker wire you want to replace. unplug from head unit. tie the end of the new speaker wire on the head unit end of old speaker wire. go to speaker hole where the speaker is that the old wire is connected to. unhook that end. pull the old wire which has the new wire attached to it all the way through. untie. hook new end of speaker wire to speaker. hook other end to head unit.

It all depends on what type of speakers you are planning on running. For stock replacements the factory wire is fine. Unless you are planning on running some subwoofers in the rear with a lot of power.

I want to run new wire, because frankly I don't trust the mess that is stock in the stereo compartment. You have an amp tucked way in the back and like 50 wires all over the place. Just figured I would use the stock power and ignition wires, but run all new speaker wires.

How about re-running the wire instead of pulling the new wire along the existing speaker wire length.

thanks

You can do this and run the wire behind your panels and down the side of your car under the carpet. You just have to remove some panels.

It's not too hard.

pop your kicks, the door runners (I think that's what they're called... I don't think I've ever called them anything), and the back side cover so you can access the speaker. Pull the HU out, run the wires under the dash, down the kicks, along the door (they'll be under the runner) and back to the speaker. Not much to it, really.
