So is it easiest to pull an engine by removing the trans first (5spd) or just unbolting the engine from the trans and leaving the trans in the car?I dont have the ceiling heith to pull them together! And i need to do this work quick! peace

If you pull both the engine and tranny together (I think this is by far easier), put the rear of the car up on jackstands. You can literally almost pull the motor/tranny "straight out the front" in a very easy manner. This way you don't have to tilt the motor/tranny at an extreme angle to get them in/out.

pull the driveshaft and disconnect all your connections(exhaust, electrical, clutch) while the car is still in the garage. then push the car outside and undo the motor mounts and tranny mounts. the motor will pull right out along with the tranny and then you can push the car back inside. unless it's raining and then this wont work :D

Definitely pull the engine and trans as a single piece. Stabbing the trans back in the clutch while the engine is on a hoist is difficult and frustrating. The primary issue is having sufficient clearance under the car to get the shifter past the trans tunnel. I had mine on jackstands on all four corners.

There can be clearance problems between the ceiling and the cherry picker hoist if you are in a garage with a low ceiling or under a garage door opener that hangs down low.

The new motor wont be in till november cause i'm redoing all the under the hood stuff again. i have 99% of the parts for my 351 so it's assembly time then reinstall. I;m sending my 3550 off to get the pro50 shift kit installed in it as well. peace
