pulling timing

My cobra feels like its pulling alot of timing while in any gear when it gets close to 4,000 rpm and the needle starts bouncing errocticaly .I have done a complete tune up and oil change set the timing to 10 degrees put the spout back in ,clean the maf, changed the distributor, the tfi module ,ignition coil and the problem remains not as bad but still there. This started happening prior to the tune up I though the tune up would fix it. Any input would be appreciated

try locking out your timing to around 26 degrees (keep the spout out after you time it)

This should let you know whether or not the computer pulling timing is your problem.

Does it feel like the car is falling on its face and won't rev past 4000 rpm..or does it just slow down a lot but still pull?

ALSO: pull your codes and see what your computer has to say

good luck

Ok I resolved the issue it wasnt even ignition related IT WAS THE DAMM GROUND CABLE FROM THE ENGINE TO THE BODY.I replaced it with a 4 gauge wire and the problem went away .I did notice it looked a little weird probably due to battery acid falling on it when I did the oil change and I had a hunch since my alarm started to act weird. And believe or not I just went on an errand 60 miles away and I notice an improvement in gas mileage and more power in all the gears with the AC on.So thanks for all the advice and remember check that damm ground cable and replace it with a thicker one .:nice:

Actually, a bad motor ground is very ignition related (it will create a ton of ignition issues).

Glad to hear you got it whipped. :nice:
