Its easy, run 12v power to one side of the switch and the other terminal of the switch goes to the starter solemoid....(where the little wire goes to, held onto it by a little rubber boot that slides onto a little metal threaded stud on top of the solenoid)....Just put power to that metal stud, and it will crank
Additionally, you could grab the S-terminal wire inside the car (at the ignition switch) for a super short run of wire to your switch.

EDIT: If you wanted to be real safe about it, you can tap into the backside (outlet) of the clutch safety switch. This would require you to have the clutch in for the switch to work. That might save accidentally bumping the switch and engaging the starter.

Piggy backing of the clutch switch is probably the safest way to do it. Now heres the trick, A) Mount it somwhere invisible, and 2) wire the OLD links from the "start" position in your ignition switch to a "short circuit" that blows out a new fuse or relay for the ignition system. So if anybody tries to steal your car, they turn the key and, BAM the ignition is dead. But fortunately, you know where you mounted this new fuse or relay, so you can easily replace it and keep on moving.

You'll still need the key to operate the electronics, so you might be able to spin the engine with the button, but the ignition and fuel won't work. I like Prime Lord's idea, but otherwise, I think you'll get tired of it. What's wrong with just turning the key?

a push button is more racey(faster down the 1/4), haha..but a good idea if your switch is fugged up or you just wanna look cool in front of your friends i suppose

I can't see getting tired of it if its wired to prevent car theives. It'd be worth it.
Thats my primary reason for wanting to do it, sure the key works fine, but when my car is done at the body shop, its gonna look brand new, and its a rare car on top of that, so for security sake, I think its great.

I have wanted to do this too mostly for security sake but it does look cool when your friends are around.....But I would not even show them where it is

i think the hard part is finding a cool switch.
Jegs had a little plate with a push-button and another "arm" switch on it....thought it'd go good in the ash tray spot, but its been a while since i thought of doin it lol

Put a home doorbell button in the lighter socket, connected to the always hot positive wire, and run the other wire to the switch terminal of the starter relay.
Turn the key to on and push the button.
I bought an old F150 from a carpenter once that had it done this way. He could wire a doorbell, but did not know how to adjust the neutral safety switch.....
Note that this does bypass the park/neutral safety and clutch safety switches, so be careful with it.
You could also just intercept the starter wire from the key switch with a pushbutton and keep those safety items.

Nobody is ever going to see the switch...so it can look like whatever as long as its functional. I think doing anything in the ashtray area is too obvious. I'm thinking under the console accessable by reaching through the opening for the parking brake OR under the seat...but tucked up on the bottom of the seat.

I am interested in getting one to avoid theft.......Will this switch interfer with my alarm...I dont have a remote start btw.

I put a "push to start" button in the car and then I lent the car to a chevy guy... he read the button - got out and started to push the car.. I asked "what are you doing" he replied "hey I read the warning, my car is like that but there isn't a warning"...
