So my motor was making a ticking sound from the passenger side so I took off the valve cover and some of the rockers seemed pretty loose. I looked in my manual about setting the valve lash and adjusted per the instructions (tighten down rocker until pushrod doesn't spin at TDC for each piston). After doing this the motor ran really rough...so I went to try adjusting them again and backed off on one just a little...now it runs better but still a little rough. Should I keep adjusting until it runs smooth? Someone suggested to me to get and oversized pushrod. Would this be a better solution? Thanks

Does not spin? I usually wiggle the rocker up and down as I tighten the nut. When it has 0 clearance, I stop. Then go a half turn after that, as per crane info sheet.

Do you have hyd. or solid lifters? I find adjusting either type with the engine running is better.
