My bolts came loose every once in a while and I think that's why I blew a gasket. So I got locking ones when I put a new gasket in it. I recommend trying the aluminum gaskets that I was talking about from the parts store. You can get them locally, they're cheaper than copper, they seal better than copper, and they're still reusable.

BBK Shorty unequals are by FAR the best header you can put on a 5.0.

Ehh, I would vote for the FMS or the Bassani headers. They both have some nice solid one piece flanges.

Roland - you may want to look into some stage8 locking header bolts.

I just use some non permantent loc-tite on my header bolts and they've never come loose. And with a little tug, they come right out.

Not trying to hijack the thread but while we're talking about spark plugs..

What are some good plugs to get? and is there a way to tell if the existing ones are bad? I don't know I've never messed around with the spark plugs.

For stock replacements, either Autolite 25s or go to a Ford dealership and buy Motorcraft stock replacements. Don't buy in to the whole platinum gimmick plugs.

Ok so tonight I went for the first good drive with them and got everything nice and hot...Came home for a few (maby 10 minutes) and left it running outside and when I came outside I heard a tick tick tick....I think it's the headers. Sounds like an exhaust leak on the passenger side. I will check tomorow if any of the bolts came loose on me. If it was the gaskets what should I buy. NAPA ones or should I order some mr gasket copper ones....any opinions is greatly helpfull as this is the first set of headers I have done on my mustang.

Oh right now I am using the BBK-1515 headers and the blots and gaskets they send with them.
