Some local kid had a set of flowmaster mufflers on craigslist, I scooped them up day and installed them this afternoon. Pretty straightforward as most of you know, I backed the car up on ramps to make it a little easier.

The only thing is, that damn bolt that secures the hangar bracket that is located conveniently in between the muffler and the frame, with about .00005mm of space to work with. In order to make it work (especially on the passenger side), I was on my back, knee holding the muffler in place and moving the bracket into place with my hands...so my daughter could stick her hand in there and thread the bolt. Hey...whatever works

The mufflers sound great, definitely louder than stock but nowhere near annoying loud, just that extra bit of rumble I was looking for. I looked online and they are $300 new, I got them for $225 so a fair price I think. Besides that I got it tinted yesterday, definitely adds to the "blacked out" look. I was scoping some second hand lowering springs on here in the classifieds, I think that will be next. Gotta say I love the car thus far. It's a sweet ride!

Good deal. If I change my axlebacks I wont buy new. They are just too expensive and there are tons of used out there if you time it right you can get a good deal

Car looks nice with the tint btw! How much did you get % wise?

Congrats on the new sound. I also will not buy new axlebacks. The only new axlebacks/catsbacks I bought were the magnapacks, but I only paid $310 on Ebay.

New mods are fun!! Inexpensives one that deliver are even more fun!! Congrats dude.

I need to check my local craigslist for some new mufflers. Mine is crazy loud now. Its embarrasing. I gotta drive with my tinted windows up!

Help me understand axle backs. Does it include the pipe that connects right after it goes over the axle then of course the muffler to tips?

Axleback is the mufflers, tips and the rear section that connects to the over the axle pipes.

The tint on the back window and top stripe are limo (5%?), and the sides are 15%. Kinda dark but I love it, plus in the summer it should keep the sun from killing the interior.

You guys are right, cheaper mods are great. Thanks

Yeah I thought it might be somewhere in that % Looks good...I have debated the tinting a lot lately with summer coming on and gets over 110 here... Still I hate tickets so I can't go as dark as I want

Yeah, I miss that dark tint on my '07. The new 2010 has legal tint, darn it! But, don't have to worry about tickets now.
