Background:
I have always been on the look out for some '03/04 Cobra seats to drop into my '01. But they are always more than I can afford. I always thought that the '05+ cars had have much better seats than the 99-04. As countless '05s are made into race cars, there are planty of '05+ GT leather seats available and very affordable.

My Question:
Will '05+ seats work in a 99-04? Has any body tried this?
Is there some other solution that you think is a better idea (at the same price, too)?
Any other opinion you can add?

As usual ... Thanks!

This is the route I'm going to be going soon. I think they're the best looking and best bang-for-the-buck if you want a factory style seat. They look much better and are more comfortable than any standard Fox/SN95 seat other than the Terminator, Mach1, Bullitt or SVO Recaros.

A couple of people have put them in Foxes on some other boards and I found pics online of them in SN95s too. The tracks need to be modified to fit the mounting holes/bolts of the Fox/SN95 floor - apparently a little fabrication and welding is required to the front mounts - you can see those S197 front mounting holes are vertical and if you look at your current seats, they're flat to the floor pan. I think you can also drill new holes in your old tracks and use them with the S197 frames but spacers are needed or they'll sit too low.

You can find some pics on the Corral, there was a GT500 seats in a Fox thread within the last month or two, and other examples on Google if you dig long enough.

In my research, I haven't found a lot of specific details of the modifications, but enough to go on that I'm confident I can make it work.
