Hey guys I'll be going to Hawaii for about 50 days next week. Should I do anything to the stang before I leave? Maybe have some one start it up every once and a while? Or will the gas/oil/coolant have to be drained? Thanks guys!

Nothing spectacular needs to be done to store for only 50 days. If nobody will be around to start it, I'd disconnect the battery, or put a trickle charger on it.

If you can, just have someone start it and run it every 2 weeks or so for like 15 minutes, and have them maybe just back it up a few feet to move the tires a bit, but for a month and a half that's probably not necessary.

Im not sure about yours, but I know my car is temper-mental as a bitch when I leave it sitting for a couple days. If I don't drive my stang for a couple days, it runs like crap when I get back in it. Stalls out, and idols all over the place, and thats after like two days, after 50 my car would probably not even start.

What about making sure the gas tank is full to help prevent any excess condinsation from building up? Or is that just dumb. I think its not that bad of an idea

I'm not sure...should I leave it close to full or empty?

I'll prolly have a buddy start it up once a week...

I have been in Iraq now for 8 months. The only thing i did was disconnect the battery. I didnt have my wife start it. It hasnt moved so there is flat spots on the tires from what the wife says but they are crappy stock tires and there are a new set of nt555's sitting next to the car . I will be going home soon for leave so I had my wife start it today while i listened over the net. Started right up, sounded good little smoke but thats from condensation in the exhaust.

I would put the car on jacks stands to prevent those new tires from getting flat spots. Have a safe trip back and enjoy the Stang(and wife). Pearl02.
