Hey all, so i have my whole exhaust planned out, and even though i contacted Pypes about it i wanted to see if anyone has them installed to see if there is an issue. So with that, does anyone have the Pypes Ceramic Cats installed? I had Magnaflow Cats installed on my 95 Tbird with no CEL or issues, just want to make sure these wont either before i have them installed on my 04 Stang.

PS: yes i know i could go with MIL Eliminators and say screw the cats and im sure i will get flammed for not going with them, would rather be safe than sorry on my end. thanks!

If you are getting the Pypes catted X, word of advice do not buy it. I had the o/r on for my 97GT and the fitment sucks ass. I was highly pissed trying to get it to fit right. I have since put on a Bassaini BX catted X pipe cost a pretty penny but fits great. Just my .02 cents

Oh ok, in that case I would go for metal core cats not ceramic. Those should work though as long as you have something in front of the secondary O2 sensors you will be ok. On my o/r X-pipe I used spark plug defoulers and never got a CEL.

I'm tired of people saying pypes equipment is ****. The reason it didn't fit was because you didn't install it correctly! I have their xpipe and cat back and have had zero leaks or problems with fitment. Of course bassani is nice but you need to give up your house to get a damn xpipe. Not worth it to me when pypes fit just fine

I will be over-seeing a Pypes Catted X-pipe within the next few days. I will report any issues if there are any. I have my BBK X install experience to compare with.

The construction of the midpipe looks pretty solid. Hopefully the fitment is comparable to its build quality.

Look man if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it is a damn duck. I am far from stupid and I had the Pypes X pipe on for a year and never got it to fit right. I have had the Bassaini for three months and it fit just right the first time. You may have gotten luck with yours they are hit or miss on fitment. I am speaking of my experience don't get mad at me because it did not fit.

i dont see why perfectly good cats would cause a CEL?

if they didnt work im sure more people would be bitching about the product

to answer your other question, they do not indicate which cats they include in their 'catted' midpipe...at least on AM....you can always call

true, i mean i did talk to pypes cause it said on their site and AM that it works in MOST states, and they said there should not be an issue, but i wanted to get feed back from anyone who may have already used these to see if there ever was an issue, i dont wanna spend all this money and have it go south you know,i know i can get magnaflow high flow cats cheaper 64.00 per cat, but when i saw the pypes i was thinking of going with a new brand for my set up, just thoughts tho you know, i did the same thing with the mufflers before settling with the original 40,

We say most states because every state has different guidelines, equipment, personnel etc. It's just impossible for us to test these cats in every state. Combine that with all the mods that owners are adding to their cars and nobody is going to guarantee you don't get a CEL. Our 2010 production run is 300 cpi which is up from last years 200 cpi. Occasionally, someone would get a CEL with the 200 CEL. With 300 cpi, you should be very safe. Performance wise, the 300 cpi might cost you 1hp.

We highly recommend metallic substrates when using power adders like SC, Turbo and Cam. If your car is not tuned perfectly, you'll eat a ceramic substrate in minutes with those adders.

Please keep us posting on those cats,Im very interested in them for future plans.
I want to try Mac Lt's with Mac O/R h-pipe + have Pypes smaller cats added to the h,since Mac doesnt make a catted h I figured that would be 1 way of going about it and still be within the price of alot of catted H's.
