How come you went with a stock quadrant? Usually, when replacing the quadrant with an aftermarket one, everyone breaks the pawl to get it off.

I had to go with a stock one because that is all i could get in this stupid town im in. I would have liked to get an adjustable but i needed one right away and ford dealers were the only people that knew what a quadrant was.

I pried on it with a screwdriver until it snapped.

try getting at it from the hole in the fire wall that the cable goes through. use a long screwdriver.

Dude, just pull out the column and drop down the pedal assemble and do it the right way. That is the only way to replace the "stock part" If you went with an aftermarket you wouldn't have to do that!
