Im replacing my clutch quadrant with a new stock one. I got the big plastic gear off but i can not get the smaller ratcheting gear off for the life of me. What do I do? How can I get it off?

How come you went with a stock quadrant? Usually, when replacing the quadrant with an aftermarket one, everyone breaks the pawl to get it off.

never replaced one but when i was taking out the lil piece of plastic i had to remove the carpet and push the pedal to the metal b4 i cud get it to come off the top.... try that cuz i spent 10minutes with it pused up against the carpet tryin to get it off...

p.s.- get the steeda one ..hah

I had to go with a stock one because that is all i could get in this stupid town im in. I would have liked to get an adjustable but i needed one right away and ford dealers were the only people that knew what a quadrant was.

Ahh, ok...makes sense. Like I said, I had to break mine. Good luck.

Dude, just pull out the column and drop down the pedal assemble and do it the right way. That is the only way to replace the "stock part" If you went with an aftermarket you wouldn't have to do that!
