I saw where TeanVisionz sells a rubber material for DIY window molding refinishing. Has anyone tried another type of rubber coating with success? I'd buy theirs, but $100 for an 8oz container seems a bit overpriced.

Web site says $99. That's a ripoff for 8oz of rubber.

Hahaha. I got an alert email for that?!? Good one.
Got another question..... I bought a used quarter window pair that needs refinishing. My originals were TOAST. This used set is bad, but fixable. Is there a way to have the very outer rubber edges sit a bit tighter to the car? I didn't use bolts yet, more of a dry fit to check them out. I noticed that the outer part of the rubber doesn't sit completely flush at the top edges. The rubber isn't warped or mishaped. Could a small amount of butyl be used to secure this edge? I don't think the nuts will really grab the edges in enough to close the gap.
