I have to get some nice Mustang Wheels for my 66. The hubcaps aren't doing it for me....
Problem is, I have a straight six, hence a 4 lug configuration.
I want the Magnum 500 Wheels. Two ways I can way I could do this, 1) Change the axles etc...
2)I was considering getting the adapters that convert 4 lug to a 5 lug setup. Anyone out there do this? Is is safe? (not a daily driver/racer ) Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I think sticking the Magnum 500s out an extra 2" with that adapterwould look hella stupid. I tried to solve this problem once, and gave up and went with a different 4 lug wheel. Find some cheap V8 drum spindles and maybe an 8" rear to fit, Im not sure on axles with 5 lugs for the little 6 banger rears.

He's not stuck with 2" adapters. He should be able to find some 1" adapters also.

I think there's nothing wrong with using wheel adapters so long as they are of good quality. IE) Machined instead of cast.

The wheels I have now are pretty deep in the wheel well as it is. A 2 inch adapter would probably stick them aligned with the wheel well.

My magnum 500s line up pretty well with the fenders and no spacers. I dont think that it is possible to make an adapter under 2", since nuts and studs have to overlap each other somehow. Also, I believe that the wheel pattern for 4 lug is 4x4.25, not 4 on a 4.5" circle.

There are 1" and 1.25" adapters out there. PM me for the hookup.

stuff the adaptors and put in an 8" rear from a granada, and the front disc brakes from the granada. that way you get disc brakes on the front, bigger drums on the rear, and a five bolt pattern so you can bolt the magnum 500's up. that is the best way to go.
