I have a friend at work with a 97 Stang. He has a problem with the alarm going off easily ie: if it rains. Do the Mustangs have a controller similar to f-bodies which controls the sensativity of the shock sensor and if so where is it located?
My 95 has an aftermarket alarm and it's a GTS so it's basic. That is why I'm asking in here since I'm not familiar with the 97's.

Thanks in advance.

It must not be a factory alarm. Factory alarms, to the best of my knowledge, aren't sensitive to any kind of shock. And if it is a problem for some odd reason, he just should lock the doors and not arm the alarm.

OK well thanks for the reply. I've posted this question on 3 different Mustang sites and you're the only one to reply and at least take a stab at answering it. It must be a tough question or exactly what you said.

Cheers.

I agree that it is not a factory alarm.Check under the dash on the drivers side for a small controller.Mine was a little black box with a white screw in it.That is how I adjusted the sensitivity on mine. There should be something similar on his. It's a trial and error thing to get it set where you want it, but just look for lead wires coming from the alarm, and it should lead you to it.Does he have an aftermarket keyless entry?

My factory alarm has a shock sensor that can be adjusted. See the ultimate factory alarm thread...
