I have an stock 88 GT that I plan on putting GT40p heads on. I was wanting to know which intake would be best. The cobra or another brand. Also would I be better off having the stock intake ported. Would it make sense to have a cobra intake ported. If this sound like a dumb question excuse my ignorance as I am pretty new to this. Thanks

The Cobra intake is a very good choice for that set-up...

Have the p heads had any work done? It is almost always benifical to have the GT-40 lower fixed/ported....

The GT40p are the ones from tristate and I belive the only thing done to them is a valve job. Also when you say GT40 lower are you reffering to the cobra intake lower? Thanks

Does your 88 have a mass air conversion? Because those kind of mods might make the speed density go buck wild... and not in a good way.

your speed density will be fine, don't worry about that. Changing the cam can give problems though. You can change heads, intake, exhaust, tb and all that good stuff without a problem

You can change the cam too but your cam selection is limited.

You didn't tell us anything about your car! If it's a light 5 speed with some gears, then get the Cobra. If it's a heavy vert with an automatic and not much gear, a stock intake with a ported lower is probably a better intake to use..........

Those "Tristate Cylinder Head" GT40P heads have a 5 angle valve job and .600 lift springs.

You didn't give a detail of your car or what direction you wanted to go with it. But I would say the Cobra will be fine with those heads, or if money is tight get an Explorer intake.
