I have an older Hurst (comp plus) shifter on my 94 GT. I noticed that there is a lot of free play when the car is in neutral. (There is no Spring back and fourth motion) I removed the shifter and disassembled it. It seems that there is a spring on each side being held down with two bolts and a metal plate. Under the springs there is a round piece of metal that prevents the spring from hitting the pivot. What is the use of the springs if there is play in neutral? Is this normal for the older Hurst shifters? I felt the old stock shifter and it does not move at all in neutral. Any thoughts?
.. Thanks :SNSign:
