I was thinking about buying this car as a daily driver... please let me know what you think the est. power/tq and est 1/4mi of this would be

88 Fox body with new gt-40 crate motor e303 cam i beleive(320hp)

bbk 65mm throttlebody
mac cold air intake
mac mandral bend headers
magnaflow mandral bend exhaust
high flow cats
2 chamber flowmasters
ford racing t-5
pro 5.0 short throw shifter
dual friction centerforce clutch
ford racing aluminum driveshaft
ford racing rear axle housing w/3.73

think it already has new internal and external fuel pump as well

what would be the next upgrades? ive heard AFR heads can do wonders for these motors... what else would it need? and how well of a reliable daily driver is it? could i run 6-8 psi on it without problems?

all responses are greatly appreciated! thank you very much!

With traction that setup should run well into the 12s. Yes 6-8 psi would be safe. A proper tune would be crutial. AFR's are superior to any Ford Iron head. Depends on what you want.

i'm sorry, 12's withOUT the blower correct?

yeah traction should be pretty good, probably get some 17x10 cobra R's in the back and fit some 295 sticky streets on there

Yes without the Blower the car would be a 12 second player. With the blower hard to say. Depends on application.

Isnt this the same motor that is in the 93 Cobras minus the E cam? They only run high 13's right? Would a E cam make that big of a difference?

My bone stock 89 Gt ran 14.01@97. I am sure a Cobra motored car would run mid-low13s. With exceptional traction and driving it would be in the 12s.

My Gt now runs 11s with a carb and gt-40 irons off a cobra.

No, the gt-40 crate motor comes with the aluminum gt40x heads if I am not mistaken. The cobra had normal cast iron gt40's on it.

What kind of intake manifold do you have on that thing?

So how much have your GT-40 heads been ported there...Mike? ...Did you forget to mention that... 14.01 is damn fast for a STOCK Mustang...was that with the 2.73's?

I would keep the motor the way that it is...just get a vortec SC-Trim for about $1700 and slap that thing to that motor and you'll be set...It's pointless to swap to AFR's just to pick up 30RWHP...when with a blower for just a little more you'll make at the least 70RWHP with 5-6psi...

what highbrid said. the heads on the gt-40 crate motor are already good, just leave them. all you would need to add is a blower or a shot of nos.

I have the GT-40, E303 but with Performer heads and intake and a SC at 6 psi. It's been very reliable as a daily driver for nearly 70,000 miles. Haven't broken anything and it sees 6k on the tack quite often. Damn, I hope I didn't jinx myself.

I have the same motor. It was brand new when I bought the car.

The 320hp Crate Is a stock 302 with the hyper piston's, E-303, GT40Y aluminum heads.

Anyway's I pulled the head's off and mildly ported them, slapped on a RPM Air-Gap, 750 Demon Carb, Full MSD ignition, Bassani Longtube's and X-pipe, Under drive pullies, Electric Fan.

The car on the Dyno made 310rwhp And 311rwtq on motor.

Last time at the track it went a 12.12@112 with the power steering on motor But since then I've swapped in a Flaming River Rack, Tubular A-arms, And also removed the Crash guard. Do that And switch to 130# coil spring's instead of my current 150# coil over spring's Maybe just Maybe it will turn an 11.99..LOL

Oh yeah 36 total timing And 87 octane!!

It dosn't really matter if they were ported or not. That's not the subject.

Ya it was with 2.73's. 5 speed. Traction and pounded down the track.

I never said it ran 14.0s. It RAN 14.2s. Best of 14.01.
