The car in question is a 88 5.0. I bought my car with GT40 heads. The smog pump is still hooked up to the belt so it runs when the car runs, but none of the connections from the smog pump are hooked up. So it is just pumping air out. I have most of the connections that it is missing from a conv. we parted out, but I am not sure if it is able to hook up to the back of the passenger side GT40 head... does any one know? what should I do? I would get rid of the smog pump but i live in california and need it for smog...thanks

if they are explorer heads, it won't be drilled for them. However, even my gt40p heads from a 97 explorer already had the holes to bolt up the equipment, it may not be "functional" though with drilling the heads. Keep in mind, that the air is diverted to the exhaust once the engine warms up, and you don't smog an engine cold. for this reason, I'm just bolting the stuff up to make it look legit.

W/ gt40P's, I see where I have holes drilled with caps in between - is this where I could bolt up the air tubes? Would I have to remove the caps or could I leave them in there?
Is this the same thing as the EGR?
