i just ordered a taurus fan and plan on installing it with a DC controller. my question is, what else is needed for this installation? do i still need to pick up a high amp relay, or with this controller, do i just need the fan and the controller itself? thanks a lot!

here's the controller i'm talking about...the first one, part number 2sp.

Fan Control

i have a taurus fan on my car, and i just wired up a generic relay from autozone with a painless thermistor switch that turns it on at 185 deg. I also put in a bypass switch. I just leave it on low speed (that keeps it at 160), but if i want high speed, i just switch the wires on the relay

I'm not sure if I have the same model as yours, but no relays required on mine. This (along with the Griffin alum. radiator) is one of the best mods I ever made on my car. The fan controller ramps up slowly, so you don't get any nasty voltage/amperage spikes. I ordered the monitor light they sell as well. It is SO cool ! The LED changes color (from green to yellow to red) according to how hard the fan is working, so you know what's going on with the fan at all times. Of course the fan kicks on with the AC and there is even a jumper for underdrive pulleys, but I don't use that even though I have UP's.

Also if you don't already have it, I would definately do the 3G Alt. upgrade, and the extra engine ground as well. :nice:
