Hey Im new to these forums. I always read them but I decided to make an account since I had a few questions. I own a 2002 GT that is completely bone stock at the moment. Ive had it for less than a year so I had no choice but to drive it this winter. Ive kept driving it in the snow to a minimum since I dont want to risk smashing it or all that nasty road salt ruining the car. When its really bad Ill just use my moms car. Otherwise if the roads are cleaned well Ill take my car.
Now for my question. Recently we had some bad snow storms and I had to move my car out of the snow filled driveway so we could plow. At low RPMS like 2 grand or under there is a vibration that I notice when there is a loss of traction. For example I pulled back into my driveway last night in almost 8 inches of snow and I was in 2nd gear and when the rear wheels started to spin the car started to pulsate and the shifter pulsated as well. I assumed it was just the traction control doing its job but Ive had instances where the traction controll kicked in on wet roads and the was no vibration or pulsating. Just that annoying hesitation. Today I had to move it again because we had more snow and I turned the traction control off to see how it acted and it still vibrated but not as violently. So basically could this vibration and pulsating be caused by a broken tranny mount or is it something else? Or is this normal because of the traction control or the design of the car? The car is a 5- speed if that matters. Sorry for the long post...
