Would you say you would get more power out of a 10.1 compression set at the max lift or a 9.6 compressions at at the max lift. More compression, less clearance for valves. So basically, which is more powerfull... more lift or more compression

Just to give you an idea what I am refering to. We have a 302 with these pistons http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=UEM-KB281-8&view=1&N=700+ and these rods http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=ESP-5090FP&autoview=sku on a stock crank and GT40X iron heads.

We are trying to make the most power possible N/A. We can go down to a 54cc head which would give us a 10.1:1 compression but not as much clearance for lift or go after a 58cc head which would give us a 9.6:1 compression and more room for the valves.

I was thinking of keeping the stock cam (.444) and keeping the 1.72 rockers we have on there which would give us a .481 lift (one thousandth more than a B-cam) I guess what will make up my mind is the answer to the question I opened the thread with. This is on a 302 block 87 stang. Motor is already assembled and we are swapping the E7 heads off for the GT40x heads.
