Question for those with a Taurus fan.

Do any of you have it hooked up on the low speed setting? If so, do you have any cooling issues, or does it work just fine?

I ask because I have a Taurus fan and have it wired through a thermo-switch, on the high speed side. I am going to rewire it to use both speeds via an interrupt relay. I am going to have the low speed run when the thermo-switch turns it on for cooling purposes. I am going to wire the high speed side through my AC cycling switch, so it is on when my AC is on.

Basically I am going to wire it how a normal two speed fan would run in stock form, low speed for engine cooling, high speed for AC. I just don't know what to expect when it comes to the low speed and engine cooling.

I wired mine up for just low speed and it works great.
2 weeks ago it was 103* and I had the A/C on high and the temps were right around 195*

I used a DC Controller and a 3.8 fan. I have it wired to the high side... And with the ac on when it's 100+ it still does get a little warm. 215-220 sitting at idle. Mind you, that's with a Griffin Aluminum Radiator and a Mr Gasket 180 thermostat. Stock pulleys also. Swapped them out for stock in search of better cooling, but didn't help

Can't quite remember how I had mine wired up (we're going back nearly 8-years here), but I do remember between swapping out to a 180* thermostate and the addition of the Taurus fan, it worked great keeping the car cool and consistent. And that's with U/D pullies as well.

I run the one in my 93 on low speed most of the time. I have a double switch/double relay set up. The only time I have had to turn the high speed is when the A/C is on and I am stuck in traffic.

Ok, sounds good to me. That was my only fear, that maybe having the low side of the fan controlled by engine temp, it might not be enough to keep the engine cool.

So I am going to stick with my plan. Thank you all.
