I just started porting my iron GT40's. So far all I did was an exhuast port. I have some pics of the finished port that I'll post later ( I need my memory stick reader). It turned out pretty well. The stock port is really bad around the bowl with the cast flashing and the valve guide. I originally intended on cleaning up the flashing but I ended up doing that and more. I smoothed out the guide and the bump in the roof near the exit and ended up polishing the whole thing. In the end I opened the whole port up alittle too.
I just want to make sure I didn't go too far with it before I move on so I was hoping to see if any of you guys would have any pictures that show some porting work you've done or had done. Also, I looked at the intake port and it doesn't look like it needs anything more than to clean the casting and shape the bowls alittle. What do you guys think? I was thinking of having an exhuast and intake port flowed before continuing. Think that would be at all necessary, or just wait untill I'm done to get them flowed before I get a cam designed?
