Question: What Kind Of Gas Do You Put In Your Pony?... Does It Matter?

Off subject but did you get your 3.73's installed yet , how is it?

Well... um... the appointment was for today, but unfortunately, I had to cancel. You see, my wife found out about my exhaust getting put on (Tuesday), and let's just say, she wasn't as happy as I was. I've spent the last three days in the doghouse listening to "I can't trust you", etc., etc., blah-blah-blah... "You promised me you wouldn't get anything more done to the car", blah-blah-blah...

At any rate, I told her this morning I cancelled my appointment to have new gears put in, and she was surprised (because this was something else she didn't know I was doing). Long-story short, I didn't get my gears--yet. I earned some brownie points by telling her I cancelled my appointment, so I figure I'll have them on here in another two months. :nice:

In the meantime, I just picked-up a package from my buddy's house yesterday, and I totally forgot about the goodies inside. DOH! Now I'm trying to figure out how to put them on / explain them to her without going through all of the B.S. trust-stuff again. <sigh> I'm fearing the sneer, a lot more than the gear at this point.

I think it should be noted my ignition timing was advanced to the "93 octane" program but I get by with 87 and no pinging. Although most cars would require 93 octane with that type of ignition setup, not all do. I think that Amsoil PI additive I use might slightly boost the octane as well. Not sure though.

That sucks man, my wife lets me buy whatever I want for my Cobra. She gets as excited as me when I get a Mod and she notices a difference.

Normally 93, but last night I tried the 94 just to see how it would react...it might have been just me but I think it felt a bit better...

Only one way to know track times or dyno though

BTW, my wife has an addiction to shoes, clothes and every makeup product made in the world...but I cannot purchase stuff for my car unless I do it covertly. Make any sense to anyone? Sigh.....maybe if i cut off her shoe, makeup, clothes suppliers I will get a little sympathy. LOL

I just got my Stang ('04 GT) and was told by the salesman to use 89. I never trust the salesman. So I used 89 the first two tanks, then switched to 87 - no problems here. No pinging, even on the hottest Texas day. The engine is still breaking-in and seems to free up more every day. So I figure if it runs good now on 87, it will run great later on 87. Especially after the air temps drop.

I used to go searching for Chevron, but ever since the Chevron/Texaco merger and the ChevronTexaco/Shell merger, their gas has been crap. Nothing seems to run right on Chevron, not like it used to. Chevron used to be good gas. Now I'm finding that ExxonMobil gas is running pretty good nd I'm getting great mileage from it. I guess maybe it's been long enough since the Valdez accident, I can start using Exxon gas with a semi-clear conscience.
