Hey guys. I have a car that luckily has not been abused by it's previous owners. I've since built the hell out of it, but the suspension is a little lacking. I've got subframes and BBK progressive lowering springs, but that's it. I had a strut tower brace, but it had to go when I got my new intake. I want to put in some LCAs to tighten up the rear end. My stock bushings are shot, and I get wheel bounce, so either way I have to do something back there. A friend has a set of SouthSide Machine arms laying around that he'd sell me cheap. They're the old version, and he calls them "torque box rippers." I want to install a set of torque box reinforcers either way, so that I don't have to worry about them. I don't have alot of money, so this is seeming like a good thing to go with. On Ebay there's a few companies selling torque box reinforcers for like 50.00 or so. They look sturdy, but I don't know enough about them to judge. Anyway, is it safe for my car to use some box reinforcers and the SSM bars? I know the SSMs are classic, and work well, but I don't want to chew my rear up for nothing. Let me know what you guys think!

Well, I talked to my mechanic, and he said to stay away from these LCAs, because they are SSM 1st gen arms, and they make a lot of noise. He said to get the revised versions that aren't metal on metal. Oh well...

I was going to agree. just spend the cash on good arms with a spherical bushing at the axle end.

Actually, I found some nice looking ones from Blue Oval Industries. They're like 150 for uppers and lowers, and I've read some good reviews of their products, so I might get them. We'll see...

Here's the deal guys. I'm getting BBK control arms to match the rest of my BBK suspension. I still don't know if I should mess with the reinforcers, but it seems like a good idea. Let me know what you think.

I'd put on the re-enforcers whiole you have the control arms off...it's cheap insurance, and could save you a lot of grief in the future.

It is worth it to add re-enforcements while the arms are apart, prevent any damage in the future. (See My Sig)
