Every six months I have to back off the nut at the clutch fork to get the clutch to grab tight enough. Now theres slack in the cable and not much room left for me to back off the the threaded rod.

After the adjustment the pedal grabs at the floor, now six months later it grabs very high again and will slip if I lug the motor. Any ideas?

Do you have an aftermarket adjustable quadrant and firewall? If you do get an original clutch cable from ford (dealer) and put that in. These adjustable cables are full of $hit. They stretch and snapp...!

Aftermarket quadrant with 3 spots on it, no adjustment at the firewall. I dont mind the setup. I just want to know if these issues point to problems with the cable or the clutch itself...

What about the cable, is it stock or an aftermarket adjustable one?? If it's aftermarket, loose it and go back to the stock ford one.

Loose cable+slipping clutch= worn out clutch or pressure plate. As long as there is no tension on that cable with the pedal up, the cable is not at fault.

Did you read the instructions with you're quadrant? One hook for stock cable, one hook for adjustable cable, and the other if I remember correctly is for either cable with a firewall adjuster. It's been two years since i've done mine, might be wrong
