I have a 96 gt with the auto trans. Im looking at buying a whole rear-end with 4:10 gears(ford motor sports) w/ rear girdle for $300 hasnt been driven on. 1st does that sound like a good deal? Also i was reading that it will/can cause damage to the trans which i cannot afford to roast another one. Will a speed cal fix that problem(know it fixes speed/odo)

Are you talking axles and all? If so I would be careful because that is too cheap.

Also it won't hurt your trans it will just throw off your speedo. A speed cal doesn't work for an auto you will need to get an SCT Tuner.

Yea it is complete minus brakes. He said gear were 200, girdle was 200 and the carrier was close to 400. It looked like it was a project car and just funds ran out and now he is parting out. I asked about it alittle more so we will see what he says.

Anyway yea i was reading by changing the gears it changes the shift points and can damage it. I have been looking at the sniper special force, would that work for the gears and shift points?

sounds good then. This is really my first swap and will be first geared car. What weight fluid should i use?(i know i need friction modifier also). I kinda searched and people said 80-90, 75-90 or synthetic 70w-140. What would be best for it sense it has no miles on it. O and i cant find my haynes manual but how much does it take?
