Quick Pulley question.

dam i was hoping it wasn't that one looks like a pita
and how do i keep the engine from moving? i thought i read if i put it in 5th it will lock, or was it reverse? last question i swear.

I would leave to the belt on....its holds the w/pump pulley while you loosen them up, otherwise it rolls all over and the bolts are a pain...:Damnit:
Crank is usually easy...give a quick snap to break em loose..i have seen the crank one rust up and stick on pretty good...the diameter's between the 2 are pretty tight fit...you may have to sand the crud off to get the new pulley one...just maybe.....I would antiseize all the bolts for re-assy...

Just like they go on the motor...bottom is crank, above that the w/pump, and the alt..

Leave the tranny in 5th, that will keep the engine from turning over. If you can fit one, try getting an impact on the bolts that are being a PITA. I had to use a 1/2" impact with a swivel socket to break loose the alternator pulley.

i agree--don't take the belt off, just losen the tensioner.

oh, and unless you want to deal with charging issues, DON'T PUT THE ALTERNATOR PULLEY ON. the other two are already getting smaller, so it's gonna to affect the charging slightly, it'd be even worse if you put the alternator pulley on. just my $.02

i thought my charging issues were related to the pullies but it was actually a bad ground. no more charging problems anymore. if you did leave the new one off, the belt might not fit like it is supposed to.

Which ground was it? I have a bad ground somewhere, I keep frying alternator cables.

the 10 gauge from the battery terminal. when i had my car in for a/c problems the mechanic said that was another problem. he also added another 10 gauge from the intake to the firewall, not sure why:shrug:, but it works better now.
