I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. People dog on the Twisted Wedge heads but Ed Curtis threw an off the shelf set on a 408 and had it running 10s.
The stage 1 camshaft is definately tame as hell, and as you mentioned the street heat intake has got to go. With a shorter runner intake and a 4 degree retard on that cam I bet you'll pull some solid HP around 6500, with a sexy torque curve.
when I first did my swap, for some retarded reason I used the street intake. Defintely starved the engine at higher rpms. I put an R intake on it and its much better.
