asking this for a friend...

is there a difference between the 94-95 wiring harness and the 89-93 mass air wiring harnesses because im doing a 351w swap and i have a distributor from a 94-95 f150 (forget which one) and my harness doesn't have what plugs into the distributor. so what im asking is can a 94-95 f150 distributor be used on a 5.0 wiring harness. let me know thanks

ttt... you mean you dont think the f150 distributor would be compatible? because it is a mustang harness im using not a f150, so like i said, need to know whether a 94-95 f150 distributor could be used on a 5.0 mustang mass air harness. otherwise what distributor could i use for this 351w that would be compatible? let me know thanks

If I remember right, the f-series had the TFI module mounted external to the distributor so no the dist. would not plug into the mustang harness.

MSD has a distributor for a 5.8 EFI swap.

If you have a distributor from an F-series truck, and a wiring harness from a Mustang, I would assume you have a TFI module from a Mustang. Just put the TFI module from your Mustang on the truck distributor.

I believe 94-95 with a 5.8 needs MSD P/N 8451. 8452 is the replacement for the one he's already trying to use.

would getting a distributor from an older 351w fuel injected f150 (before 1994) be another solution rather than spending 250 bucks on a new msd distributor?

Yes it would. I have one that I got off eBay from MidwestMustangs. I just found one on there auctions. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7912277295&category=33690. I've purchased from them several times and I've always been satisfied with the deal. Good luck.

My bad everybody I thought you were trying to fit up to a 94/95 harness. Well at least you found that other one in their auctions.
