ok,
lately ive been looking for a 99 gt and i noticed that some of them have one of the hood scoops and some of them just have that regular v6 lookin hood.
My question is why is this? Is there a difference between the two? Is one better then the other? Explain please

they just look different. I have the larger style that sits on top but I prefer the lower style. The larger style looks like you have ram air similar to the mach1 although it is non-functional. Plus the larger scoop is a huge water/bug catcher.

While on the subject, anyone know a sure-fire way to distinguish 99-03 GT's besides the hood on the later models?

Look under the hood :). Usually you can tell by the fog lighs (v6 didnt come with them), rear bumper cutouts, wheels, or exhaust tone.

Black Honeycomb Rear Panel
Side Scoops
Hood Stripe
Wheels
Seats
Fender Emblems
Bumper Inserts
I have a 35th with none of these.... Well I have the side scoops and fender emblems...but whats different about the seats and wheels and bumper? I know for sure I dont hjave a hood stripe...
My wheels are 17" with center pony....
My bumper says "MUSTANG" solid black (as rest of car)

+the odds of it being a fake "35th" is not likely, as I gave my insurance the vin, they said "well this one is a 35th edition... (costs $10 more a month ~ bull****)

99-00 had clear headlights, no hoodscoop, had 16" wheels, a wing that looked extremely better - the lines just went with the trunk, they also had crappy cupholders. The 99s had the 35th anniversary badge, the 00s obviously didnt. The sidescoops all looked the same, v6.

the 01s had the smoke looking headlights, a different spoiler that looks like a wing, cupholders that actually hold cups, available 6 disc changer, different center console with the trac, defog, and fogs in the bottom of the center console, side scoops that bulged out. 02s look practically the same. In 03 you could have gotten an IUP package which included cobra headrests and bullitt interior, the same for 04 but they had the 40th anni. badges. Oh and they all came with 17" wheels which were the regular 5spokes, then bullitts. IN 03/04 you could have optioned for the 01 Cobra wheels.

You own a regular 99 with 35th anniversary badges. The 35th Editions were "special editions"

Yours is a 99 but not a 35th edition.

on all the 99's (Gt) the badge on the front left and right fender says "35th Anniversary" but that does not mean that you have the 35th anniversary special edition.

Thats one on the things I really like about mine, the only badge on mine that says GT is on the back so if I pull up beside someone at a light they mistake me for a V6 because I don't have the raised hood scoop and no GT badges on the side.
