Any difference in gas mileage? I want a better sound, but I dont wanna give up any MPG. Ive heard that the back pressure is super sensitive in the 05, and changing out the axelback system would result in a drastic decrease in MPG. Thanks!

You might even see BETTER gas milage. Who knows. If you are that bent on keeping good MPG then I suggest you keep the car stock and save the MOD money for gas money. You also might consider NEVER driving the car in a spirited fashion - which it was built to do. Well, I guess you should really just take the car back and get a Geo...

Sorry for the sarcasm but I think that too many people are worried about the gas milage on a SPORTS CAR.

They have every right to be worried about gas mileage. And no they dont need to take it back and buy a geo. This is a Mustang GT, not an expensive special edition or a Cobra. This is the entry level, performance on a budget, every man's sports car. The daily driver of sports cars. MOST people will buy this car as a daily driver and gas mileage it most certainly a concern with these cars so far. Many people have reported getting worse than the advertised mileage, and the advertised mileage is nothing to get excited about in the first place. I personally attribute this to Ford wanting to make sure the car performed up to the level of the hype, hence the 3.55 rear gears and very stout tranny gears. Good for performance, not good for mileage!

My advice is to wait and see the results from some who have already done the exhaust and see of they are maintaining, gaining, or losing gas mileage.

And don't listen to those who tell you to sell the car back and get a geo. It's a $25k sports car, not a Corvette. I am really disappointed with the mileage and hope Ford can improve on it over the next few years. Do you think Ford will every put a 6spd manual in the GT?

Also, don't forget that these cars are brand new. Even those of us that have them now haven't had them long, and the motors on most of these cars are no where near fully broken in yet. My last two new cars, I didn't start getting anywhere near the advertised gas mileage until I had a few thousand miles on them.

I'm getting close to 1.0 more MPG with these mods & the car pulls a lot stronger.

Check out my posts.
