I have a quick question about the dash. On the left side of the steering wheel between the headlight pullswitch and the AC/heater vent on GT Coupes there is a button for the rear defroster. What is in place of this on convertibles? Just a blanking plate maybe or something else? I looked at a 95 vert today and there was just an open rectangular slot in the dash here, no wiring or anything and no blanking plate. I just want to make sure there's nothing of importance that's supposed to be there. Thanks...

I dont have a rear defroster. Mine had a little plastic plate snapped in when I got the car, but I broke it, so its just an open spot now.

I have a plate there, if that slot is used though, it is for rear defrost.

I also forgot to add that having no rear defroster sucks in the morning and winter.

Maybe I should add rear defroster delete to my weight savings list.

Mine is imprinted "REAR DEF". It is indeed the rear defrost switch for the heated rear window on 'verts.

Thanks. I was unaware that the verts had heated rear glass.

Mines has rear def also, but you could get the newer bezel (01-04) I think and they do not have the rear def hole in them, just one hole for the headlight switch.
