Quick question thats been answered -

paul i was gunnasay also a bad ehaust leak sounds like a bad lifter ?! and lifters barley never go neways i have some lifters i just took out and i know there good ide give ya for free

Header leak???

Also what track did you run at? If it was Atco and your car is teal and grey (I might be thinking of another member who posted pics) I had a pic of your car from the track, I could send you a link to it!

I would say practice, Id bet that car runs well into the 14s with practice!

Go to www.Davemilcarek.com, and then on the bottem of that page go to photo gallery. Next go to Atco pics and the first event is the Tues night you were there. Your car was on page 5...

Id link it, but that site doesnt allow it, too many people stealing his pics.

Aslo Atcos a good track, Id say the times are a result of driving. That just means more seat time, and it will go much faster...

Im in CT too, and there isnt one...

That track is in southern Jersey, about 4 hours away, maybe more with traffic. There is a track in New York about 2 hours away, and one in NH about 3 hours away (from central CT). Etown in Jersey is about 2.5-3 hours as well. I personally love Etown in NJ, but then again my GF lives 20 mins from there.

CT/MA/RI sucks for racing, no tracks near us!

i couldnt see the tack my helmet got in the way lol i shifted at like 48 or 5 cuz i didnt wanna blow the motor - the speed is low, i know - the next run i let the air down to 15 psi and i jumped off the line and my 60 ft went down to 2.11 from 2.26

did anyone see the pic? looks fast :bang: if only i was an experienced driver - with the slight performance mods and better traction, i think i could run a 14.2 or 14.3 it would be awesome -

Someone told me to get out of first gear as soon as possible and let 2nd and 3rd wind all the way out to like 5500 and may not even use 4th on the track but if in need shift at the last second - is this true? get out of first? i thought first was the fastest gear in my car besides second

Dont skip first, it will NOT help anything.

With your gears skipping first would kill your track times. My suggestion is if your on street tires bring the RPM up to about 2500 and slip it as the car hooks lay on the throttle. As far as shifting with the stock tach its tough to guess but Id say 5300 or so and slam it as hard as you can into gear (or as fast as you feel safe doing so). Be quick with the foot work, and if your close to the end of the track when shifting 4th, I say hold it out. One less shift for a couple of hundred RPM, Id take the RPM!

why slam it so hard?? I put in gear but i didnt like rip the shift knob off doing it lol does this help get the 2nd gear to engage fast enough? Should i wind EVERY GEAR including 1st out to 5300??? I will try it when my new water pump is on and i get a chance to hit Cecil County -
but thats what your tellin me right - i dont wanna hurt my motor lol
