I really didnt want to start a new thread for this, but i am starting to strip the block in prep for Hot tanking and i ran into something that i quite frankly cant identify. So, what is this thing? How do i take it off, and if its rusty should i replace it?

that is the oil seperator. It seperates out the excess crank case pressure from the oil, and spits the pressure out to the PCV valve.
It should just pop out of place. Try wacking it with a rubber mallet or something.
