hey everyone .. xmas is coming up so my uncle decided to get me an X pipe.. i was just wondering how much a shop would charge me to get it installed.. its a SLP X pipe w/ cats.. my car is a 2001 GT 5 Speed.. thanks again everyone..

you could probably hit up a muffler shop for like $80, if you don't want to do it yourself. some places might not touch it since it's not an OEM part

Yeah gotta agree with Tom they are not suppose to remove stock cats unless they are damaged or have X amount of miles (I think 50k or 75k I forget). But in all fairness, it's only 8 bolts to undo the stock and what maybe 12 bolts for the new one.

Sounds like you have a nice Uncle.

If you are capable of twisting some bolts, you can easily do this yourself. But, if you can get someone to do it for you, then more power to you. There are reasons why so many people do them by themselves; many shops won't touch stock emissions systems.

that is true some shops wont do it, but if you have the time do it yourself it's not that hard just disconnect the battery and get under the car and swap the midpipes

thanks guys... will try the shops first.. if they can't do it.. then i'll just do it myself..
