Hey guys whats up. I have had 7 stangs before this one I just picked up today. Heres the stats of the car: 1990 mustang clean motor was rebuilt about a year ago pistons,rods,bearings,bored30 over, cam, lifters, stahl converter, and has offroad h and flows. Anyway, what I need to know is, will it hurt the car if I accidently put 87 octane in it? He called AFTER i put the gas in and said "hey did you put premium in" i told him no and he said it should be fine, and just to put octane booster in it. Then I got talking to my other freind and he said NOT to run it hard until I get the 87 octane out of there otherwise I could have problems. Do I have anything to worry about here?

That I can not tell you. I can call him tomorrow and find out. Also, I should probably ask him what compression its running too huh? Anything else I need to know?

back the timing down to 10 degrees, drive it easy an when the gas goes down to 3 quarters, refill it with 93 or 94. repeat. run 91 or higher.

When I got my car from my dad, he said to only run premium in it cause of the way it was timed. He said it wont hurt to put in 87, but it will ping like a bitch if you continue to run 87 in it. Esp. if you're stomping on the gas. Hope this helps some!
Have fun with your new toy!

Thanks guys, I'll throw the octane booster in it for now and when it starts getting to about 3/4 ill keep putting premium in it until it gets the old gas out. thanks!

so it's N/A? no bottle either right? well no reason just be easy on it keep your foot out of it and when you empty the tank run the high test like your suppose to. if you want and if the car will run on lower octane, back the timming out and use lower octane. you will loose power by retarding the engine but then you can run lower octane? up to you just be easy with 87 in it peace
