Quick T-stap help

Ok, I feel dumb but which way does the T-stat face when I re-install it. I forgot to pay attention when I took it out and I searched the forum and looked through my haynes manual and nothing. Does the bridge face towards the front or back of the car. Thanks

What you're calling the "bridge" is the side opposite of the spring correct? Just making sure I'm understanding you correctly is all. The bridge side goes out, into the thermostat housing and the spring side will stick into the lower intake manifold.
