Magna flows... they are QUIET at idle, sound great cruising, and open up at WOT. They pop a little, but that only happens with LTs.

I know this is strange but I have a total of four mufflers on my car. Two dynomax Bullets, and two Flowmater American Thunder Series. This all comes from a Set of Windsor SR. Heads flowing thru BBK 1 5/8 Long tubes, into a BBK Shorty H Pipe, Into the bullets, into the flowmasters (space of about 12" between the mufflers, from the end of the Bullet to the start of the start.

Reason I dd it this way? I wanted something unique sounding -- the cops around here are bastards about noise, and I had all the parts on hand.

I have the quiet thunders as well and they sound pretty mellow. I am also using the Dr. Gas o/r X pipe which I've heard mellows the exhaust note even more. I'm not sure how it sounds in comparison to a full bassani setup but cruising mine is pretty tame. Here's a walk around clip. Sorry I don't have any cruising or in car clips.

I am using the warlok mufflers. They have built in cutouts for when you need them.I read about them in a Mustang magazine last year. They were doing a compariison of a lot of top quality mufflers for flow and decibal level. The warlocks were the quietest. They flow great. At the track, you remove 3 wing nuts per side and pull the plugs, open exhaust. But until then, the car runs VERY quiet with a nice shallow burble to it with a nice deep tone under acceleration (not the loud tone that leaves yor head pounding). No drone while your out driving (I have 2 1/2 inch exhaust on the car).Something you may wish to check out. They are pretty reasonably priced, and functional.

I'd thought about the Warlock before but would only do something like that if I had the remote valve installed (like someone mentioned earlier in this thread).

I'm an only once in a great while track participant so the goal here is to find a solution that is silent inside the car but also doesn't choke performance. I'm looking into some of the mufflers etc., that have been suggested already. It can be loud as hell outside if it likes... I just want it quiet inside. hehe

Hooker Max Flow I believe. They are NOT the Aerochambers, as they are a straight thru muffler, but for some reason were quiet as can be on my dads 91. Like amazing quiet, definately the quietest straight thru muffler, and a good chance it is only louder than a Super Turbo muffler.

Yeah like I said, amazed me when we first started it. You can see right thru them and when he cranked it, they were about as loud as super turboes, without the drone and loss of power. They would be my first and maybe only choice on a sleeper!

Have you thought about insulating the interior? You can find the materials almost any where for cheaper then messing with the exhaust.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Flowmaster 3 chambers....they sound awesome with an X and tail pipes and don't really sound like your typical Flowmaster setup. They're super quiet at cruise speeds too.

This is true haha, that's the exact setup on my car. They're quiet at idle and cruising, but have a little bark when you get on it. They sound much better than any other flowmaster setup imo. I had a tiny bit of drone when it had a catted H, but now with the o/r X there is no drone whatsoever.

I am having a tough time with exhaust too, I have an hp panhard rod the biggest one and there is no way I can get tail pipes so now I have to try to make an exhaust that ends at the axle quite...mission impossible. Since the midpipe on the hp system is 3.5" there is no ground clearence for a big bullet style muffler to add to the two bassani mufflers. I hate the noise but I love the way the car handles.
