R.I.P./viper/vet and my 99 4v motor...

Well guys to much nitrous, the that motor could handle. Saw a new viper and c5 vet on the highway. I wanted not just to beat them but destroy them. Well i sprayed it on them and I just keep pulling. We did this 3 times and then they exited. I decided to empty the bottle so i sprayed it and then BOOM if it wasn't for my hood pins my hood would have blown off. Make a long story short, called the tow truck and took it to the garage.

Damage....The nitrous back fired. I blew the plastic intake pipe, the nitrous lines off the soleniods and melted wiring. The heads are fine and everything else but block. I have a big piece missing under the lower intake and a hole in the side of the block. I need to just pull the crank out and see how it looks. But pretty much everything on the motor is going for sale after its looked over and hits the machine shop.

Nitrous isn't bad just don't spray back to back big shots on a really hot day.:nono: BTW i had 110 octan in the beast.

He said "and I just kept pulling" so I assume he raped them both lol.

Well, SORRY to hear that man....but you should have done some more research. BIG WET shot+ an intake thats designed for JUST air= BOOM! (fuel puddling) It seems to happen on 150+ shots. You should have had a dry shot or prefferably a direct port setup. :(

On a more postive note, how many cars did you manage to put on the 500 horse viper?

I got the viper by 2 cars every time we raced. As for the vet i couldn't tell if he was flooring it or not.

Well whats next you say... I'm getting a LS6 motor and putting a G5X4 cam in with 150 spray. I'm trying to pick up the motor today it has 12000miles on it. My friend just did the spawn on his blue LX so we have the know how to drop it in. We were thinking 03 cobra motor but its going to cost to much. I'm going to miss the 4v. If anyone is ever thinking about doing a 4v swap go for it you will not be disappointed. I have killed a lot of cars with it, all the 4vs need is a nice gear to say in the power band and full exhaust. Well nitrous helps alittle.

Don't think i'll go on LS1 tech because last time i check i still got a stang. I'll have the car ready in about 2 months. I'll post pictures of it as i go along. I'll try to take some pics today of the motor apart.

Bummer. :nonono:

Seems like +125 shot is where the threshold is for stock bottom end.

My buddy got a 150 shot on his 2001 4v. I told him above 125 was asking for trouble. It mysteriously blew up a few weeks later. He swears up and down he wasnt spraying.
