Race Car Now Has Flame Throwers...

Did you change the cam? As in a different profile? It takes unburned fuel to cause that condition. So somehow there is fuel in the exhaust that is lighting off, or a lot of fuel is not being burned in the combustion chamber but in the exhaust pipe. In other words, the combustion process is still taking place when the exhaust valve opens and all of that combustion process is now finishing itself in the exhaust pipe.
nope same cam we've always ran....

btw this isnt him revving on it... these are test fires. a lot of nitrous being thrown down the motor on those few hits

i know that! haha we do it to clear the lines. but the first kit has been acting sluggish so we did some tweaking at the shop last night. you could always see them at night just never when its in the shop when we had that much light

I assume that the nitrous and fuel jetting is the same? In other words, the fuel/N2O jetting did not change. As you know too much fuel will cause a Nitrous motor to be sluggish.

A couple of things come to mind that could contribute to your issue. First off would be a fuel pressure regulator going out of adjustment. Secondly, you could have a nitrous solenoid that is malfunctioning and causing the over rich condition. Beyond that, I would need a lot more info about the set-up ect. Hope that helps.

yea we thought about the flowing pressure on the nitrous side last night after the car was packed back up we are going to look at that also.

Gotcha. I would love to know if that were the case.. but I cut out the factory rev limiter and have a custom tune. I am using my MSD box but I am not bouncing the limiter when I shift....

What's your setup all consist of for tuning? Given your posts I would think 42lb'ers, bigger MAF, MSD(BTM?). What tuning device are you using.

I'm probably gonna go 42's, SCT or LMAF and hopefully a Kurgan tune next time he is in Chicago(sometime next year).

Currently my car is just stock with an SCI kit and exhaust. Right down to the stock MAF(facepalm).

Nothing wrong with that! I'll pm you my mod list so I don't clog this thread :nice:
