Got my first speeding ticket.. My mustang was only 2 weeks old at the time... 74mph 300 feet after the speed limit changed from 65 to 60.. very weak... I tried the "officer, I just got the car.. Its an upgrade from my 95 Jaloppy.. I didnt know I was even going that fast...".. he didnt buy it.. and Now I get to go to court - yay !.. Anyway.. Any suggestions on the best radar detector for the price?

.... that's bad.
i've had my cobra 9550 for 4 years, no tickets with it
1 ticket while i got paced in VA. radar detectors are illegal in VA so i had put it in my trunk.

I love my valentine one(http://www.valentineone.com/). Lets me know of K and Ka well before I can be read, even around turns and over hills. Just remeber a lot of police are using Laser and althought my radar deterctor lets me know, it to lat. Last ticket they got me with laser comming over a hill. I knew as soon as I came over the Valentine went nuts. Also valentine has upgrade feature, so even if they come out with a new radar for a small fee you get a new detector.

I've heard awesome things about Valentine's.... I have a crappy little Cobra I got from Best Buy and it SUCKS!!!!!! Not sayin all Cobra's do, just the crappy one I have.
