I looked in my garage tonight and found a puddle under my car...as you can see from the pics it is leaking from that black rubber piece. It is sort of a slow leak. Is that rubber piece a plug? Anyone have any ideas? As you can tell and see there are water spots under the car and on the floor. I fiddled with it some and it stopped leaking...im baffled

Thats no plug.Thats what the radiator sits on ..If you have a leak there its a bad radiator.Plan on getting one soon.

If it stopped it leaking it could be because the pressure is off of the system.

The drain is right above that rubber grommet to the right. It is shaped like a plastic nut. Make sure it is tight. Also, i think the drain plug may have a washer or "O " ring.

I went back out and looked at it closely. There is a strip about 6 inches long and about 1/2 tall where it was wet in the coils right above that rubber stop

I had to get a new radiator because mine was leaking. I found out it was the gaskets that went bad between the plastic and aluminum that the radiator is made out of. It was a very slow leak. If you let it sit and run, it leaks out a lot faster. If that is the problem, it will be damp on the side of the radiator.

Well I removed the radiator tonight and this is what I uncovered...

It took me 15 minutes to take it out. How long will it take to install? We shall find out tomorrow. I ordered a new radiator tonight and it will be here tomorrow.

You're in the EXACT same boat as me! My leak was occuring where that plastic strip crimps over the aluminum on both ends of my radiator. Rather than replace I upgraded to the radiator used in the 03/04 Cobras -- all aluminum and 3 core. Randy Stinchcomb at Modular Depot hooked me up -- $219.00 shipped. Great price for a good upgrade. Hopedfully I'll get to the install this weekend.
