Hey everybody. New guy here. I really need some help. I have a 1998 v6 mustang. I was going through a coolant change and ran into an annoying problem. The drain plug at the bottom of the radiator broke off and now I have to find a way to remove the threaded part of it still inside the radiator and find a replacement. If anyone has run into this problem or has some advice I would appreciate it.

I would pull the radiator to get to it better first, then you might be able to get some needle nose pliars on it to get it out.

if it doesnt leak i wouldnt touch it.. drain it by the lower hose instead..
if it is leaking/ dripping you need to pull the rad to see what you are doing..

Thanks for all the responses. I figured it out after a while lol. For anyone else running into the same problem just use a 5/16 hex key. Insert it into whats left of the drain plugs threaded section and turn. It fits perfectly and allows you to still open and close it.

Glad to hear you saved it and didn't have to buy a new radiator.
