Radio/Antenna connection in back of radio, need help!

Hi guys, awhile ago I was splicing something into the power on the back of my radio. I had the antenna connection in it and kind of propped it so it wouldn't fall. Well, it fell and it ripped off the cable connector. I haven't had a radio since. You can see the wires coming out and you can put it back into the connector but by the time you put it all back in, it falls out and doesn't get a very good signal. Is there anyway I can crimp this back on? I don't know how or where to start. I really want to use my fm transmitter for my iPod in my car. Thanks guys!

Ford will sell you a new one for $40. I know i checked just last week for my car. What a ripoff. I expect to pay $5 at a junkyard for the same piece.

do you know where and how the cable connects? doesn't it attach somewhere in back of the glovebox?

can't you solder it back together?

i think it does attach behind the glovebox somewhere. mine has been disconnected for a year now and every so often the wire from the antenna hangs down into the passenger's footwell. i'm actually planning on looking into it tonight because i'm sick of not being able to use my radio too.

I though it went straight to the antenna.

The 2 that I have seen are hard wired to the antenna. The connector that plugs into the back of the radio must come apart somehow. I haven't attempted any such repair, but I know it's possible.

Definately solder the connection and post some pics of how to fix it when you done please!!!

Ok guys, i'll see what I can do in a few days. Whether it's where the cable goes to or repairing it.
