Ragtop hydraulic cylinder help needed.

Hey guys, I'm trying to help my dad with his '94 GT convertible. The top won't go up and today we pulled the rear seat and all the interior panels from the passengers side to try and get at the guts of the problem. We initially assumed that there was some gear-driven mechanism in there that had stripped out but found instead that the top is raised using a central hydraulic pump and a cylinder on each side. I'm sure that's not news to anyone reading this, but it wasn't what we were expecting to find. Anyway, once we got in there, we found that the cylinder seems to be working fine, however the plastic mount at the top of the cylinder had broken allowing the cylinder to move wherever it wanted to without exerting any force on the top. So I'm trying to find out if there is any way to replace just the mount without buying a whole new cylinder. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

First I would check with a local salvage yard for the part. It is likely to be the same for '94 - '02+. Failing that I would check the local Ford parts department for a picture of the associated parts to see if it's a replaceable item.
