I really want rally stripes put on the car I think it will look a lot nicer..

Thing is .. Prices on everything in my area are expensive body shops are no exception. So while I know the right way is to have them painted on. I find myself considering the shortcut and just have them stuck on.

My questions..

1: The stick on stripe kits once they are there are they going to peel off in a day?

2: Do they look decently nice or is it totally obvious they are stuck on and not painted.

3: If they look like A*S can they be removed?

4: If they are on for a long time then removed will it be obvious that they were there? Will you see differences in paint color where the stripes used to be?

5: When you get them done from the dealer you get stick on ones I am guessing. Is this correct or do they paint them for you?

I know the right way is paint, and in the back of my head I am sure I will just wait and get them done right or not at all. But I just want to get some info to make an educated descision.

If anyone has some close ups of theirs that I can take a look at it would be much appreciated. Post your pics and stuff :)

I have vinyl stripes on mine. I've had them since Febuary so I can only tell you about them in the short term. I had mine installed by a graphics/sign company for 400 bucks. They really make the whole car. I've had several comments about how good they look. Most people think they're painted on. The only place that I've had any problems is on the front bumper where the vinyl catches the occasional rock chip. I suggest you find a professional installer who uses only 3M vinyl. It is the best. The vinyl that Ford uses is too thick- doesn't look right. I understand they can be removed with no damage to the paint. I suppose you would be able to tell that they were there if the paint faded real bad and you had them taken off but I keep my cars garaged and waxed so I'm not worried about it.

Most Tint shops would do this kind of work right? I am guessing I can/may need to supply the tape. Not that this is a problem since it's easily gotten.

I am still trying to decide if I want to go black or if I just want to try a darker shade of silver .. I think it might look more subtle/ tasteful on the silver.
