I went to the track for the first time with my KB installed and only ran a
13.4 @ 112MPH. I know I need DR's bad, but still shouldnt I do better on street tires?
what is everyone else with the KB 9PSI running at the track?

60' 2.347
1/4 13.472
MPH 112.19

Ive dynoed at 387RWHP and 390RWTQ

those 60's are pretty bad, just get some real dr's like some mt's or something, cut a 1.7 and u have a mid 12 second run

What RPM did you launch at? Did you slip the clutch in to first or just drop it?

i still think that you should be able to run better then that with all that power. yes if you get the 60 down you will run better thats obvious.

a regular corvette for ex. can run in the 12s with no mods and less power, why is this? is it just that their weigh distribution is that much better? i would think that you be able to smoke a regular vette with that kind of power.

No doubt youre having traction problems, just look at your trap speed. How about some LCA/UCA and DRs as well? This would be a good time to upgrade to 31 spline

not a bad trap speed for a heavier vert. Well now even heavier in the front with that KB on it.

it will be hard launching with all that torque I bet.

I know if you put a set of decent dr's and work on your launch you will do much better

You got 4.10's and a KB at 9psi. You'll need sticky tires for sure. Have you considered dropping down to a 3.55 gear?

good point, kb reccomends 3.73's, I do think the 4.10's are too high for all the low end torque.

I ran 13.2 at 111 mph with 3.73's and a Vortech S-trim. This was on street tires also. Get some Nittos and be in the mid to high 12s.

well I have my rev limiter raised so I can finish the 1/4 in fourth,
Ive ordered 31 spline axles, Nitto DR's and Steeda UCA/LCA so Im hoping to get to mid 12's,
no traction in 1st or 2nd, Im letting the clutch slip cant hammer on it or it just spins,
Im happy with the MPH but want to run mid 12's
there was a S/C Z06 and he was running 12.4 @ 119
Ive beat stock 03/04 cobras on the street but Its alot harder on the track
Ill post what I run with the Dr's installed

no need too do that.. why not just get a taller slick/ drag radial. this acts like lowering the raito no need to demod the car.

.1 sec in the 60 = .2 in the 1/4, I ran a 1.86 60' and went 12.2 at 114, it's all in your 60. I also ran a 13.9 @ 112 with a 2.8 60' (epping is awsome!)

I went a 12.7@113 my first time out with over 400rwhp and 400tq on the stock Goodyear tires. traction was very limited and I also managed a 2.0 60ft. you need to control the gas pedal some...

next month I hope to smash that time on DR's with a new clutch and built rear on board.

With 390 rwhp and street tires (on 18" rims) I went 13.4 @ 112 with a 2.4 60' time. On ET Streets and everything else the same, I went 12.2 @ 114 with a 1.7 60' time.

Traction is definitely the problem.

As far as gearing goes, I have 4.10 gears. For me, they are the perfect gear on the track. They help me stay in the powerband. My power doesn't come on strong until 4k+ rpm and I shift @ 6,500 rpm. With a KB and limited traction, 4.10 might not be as ideal for you. But, as long as you can get all the power to the ground (ie traction) and have a high enough rev limiter to stay in 4th through the traps, a numerically higher gear ratio will always be superior.
