You know, I just checked my setting - it's at 5600, and I'm wondering if that's a problem. I don't usually hit the rev limiter anymore since adding the shift light, but I think my reaction to the light is at least 200 rpm too slow. I'm going to move it to 5500 for the new season and see if that improves my times.

Glad I could help . I guess I'll try about 200 below my shift point also .

Let me know if the red is bright enough in the vent, my PDA mount already covers the top part of the drivers side one so I figured that would be a perfect place to mount this but was afraid that not having it in direct line of sight defeats part of the purpose

the guy said the led's were VERY easy to see, when I told him about the spot I wanted to install it at, he said he had been hearing that a lot lately and had not had any complaints about not being able to see the light in day or night time. So we will see, he said they are swamped with orders now and it wont ship until Tue or Wed but they come out of NC and that just happens to be where I am at so one day in transit should be all it takes to get to me

The bright red takes your picture. Mine is by the sunvisor. I don't move my eyes when I'm racing. The shift light flash is very obvious.

Believe me, even in a vent you would have no trouble seeing it. The red is the brightest BTW. I could put mine in the back seat and still see it

Led intensity:

Blue: 2000 mcd per LED, for a total intensity of 14,000 mcd
Ultra Bright Red: 3000 mcd per LED, for a total intensity of 21,000 mcd
Yellow: 1200 mcd per LED, for a total intensity of 8,400 mcd
Green: 300 mcd per LED, for a total intensity of 2,100 mcd

**NOTE** Normal low cost LEDs typically available at parts stores, are in the range of 10-30 mcd.

The first time you bounce off the rev limiter you feel like an idiot, by the 5th or 6th time you realize it's time to do something about it

The only reason you would be wasting your money is if you are driving an automatic

Why? Cause some of us have superchargers and 4.10 gears and our RPMS climb so fast that it is just nice to concentrate on the road. While your at it, go ahead and tell John Force, Joe Amato, Kenny Bernstein, Billy Glidden and every other PROFESSIONAL Drag Racer that shift lights are Gay. Or, would you like me to just answer your question by saying that I am a Ricer and just want pretty lights to go off whenever I rev my engine.
I just knew there would be one idiot to come in here. That is why StangNet is sooo popular amongst Mustang Enthusiasts.

I have had my Raptor for about a year. I never hit the rev limiter until I got 4:10's installed. How did you guys mount it? I use double sided sticky tape to mount it to the top of my steering column.

Have you ever drove a 4 valve 4.6 Cobra with DR's and a set of 4:30 gears? Try it without a shift light and tell me if you are comfortable

Make sure you set it for "1" cylinder and not "8". I didn't read the instructions close enough the first time and set it for "8" and it just flashed all the time. Set the 1, 2, and 3 switches down.
